CfAT delivers industry accredited and non-accredited skills training that supports the local economy and sustainability in remote communities. The CfAT approach is to deliver solution-based packaging for individual, group, community or industry workforce needs.
CfAT’s core focus is to provide fluid and flexible learning through adaptable digital technology and resources that are simple, culturally appropriate and cost effective to both the learner and Central Australian communities.
As an Aboriginal-controlled, not-for-profit organisation which values and respects the people, culture, community and industries, CfAT utilises culturally appropriate and industry experienced trainers to maximise participation and outcomes.
CfAT is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO Code 0857) and offers nationally accredited certificates in the areas of automotive, construction, civil construction, engineering, essential services, and rural operations. Accredited short courses include chemical handling, food hygiene, and 4WD and heavy vehicle operations.
All CfAT training and assessments are in accordance with the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) principles of assessment, rules of evidence and are delivered to meet industry standards.

Community or Industry Specific Training
CfAT values its ability to respond to the specific training needs of individuals, communities or industries. The dedicated Training Team works to understand student requirements, and create a bespoke training package to accommodate specific timelines, costs and flexible delivery modes.
CfAT is fully aware of the challenges associated with living in remote locations, including limited access to goods and services, and that learners may require a broad range of skills to maintain community infrastructure and build on economic opportunities. In addition to nationally recognised certificates, CfAT provides non-accredited fit-for-purpose training to build short-term self-reliance.
To support flexible learning, the CfAT Training Team is equipped to create custom training programs built from a wide range of units to suit your needs. These courses can build remote organisations’ and communities’ capability and capacity. The program’s accreditation status will be determined prior to the course start date.
Financial Assistance
Government subsidies for training programs vary across Australia’s States and Territories but are generally available to those learners without an existing qualification up to Certificate III level. Government subsidies are more commonly available to those referred through an employment service provider. While employers are expected to contribute to the cost of employee training, subsidies may be available to support skills development. Contact CfAT’s friendly support staff to learn about the options available.
Information for Future Students
Unique Student Identifier (USI)
Students undertaking a nationally recognised training course need a USI in order to receive Commonwealth financial assistance, as well as to obtain their qualification or statement of attainment.
