Overview
RIIMPO324F - Conduct Civil Construction Grader Operations equips participants with the knowledge and skills to safely and effectively operate a grader in various civil construction environments. This nationally recognized course is essential for individuals involved in construction, mining, and earthmoving industries.
Participants will learn to perform grader operations, including planning, operating, and maintaining the equipment, while adhering to workplace safety standards and environmental regulations. Training focuses on the efficient and safe use of graders for various tasks, ensuring participants are competent in both technical and safety aspects.
Content
Planning and Preparing for Grader Operations
Understand and interpret work instructions and grader operation documentation.
Identify hazards, risks, and environmental concerns, implementing necessary control measures.
Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and traffic management signage.
Operating the Grader
Perform pre-start checks, start-up, shutdown, and parking procedures.
Apply appropriate operating techniques to achieve project specifications.
Adjust techniques for varying work conditions and monitor equipment safety and performance.
Attachment Selection and Use
Choose and install appropriate attachments for specific tasks.
Test and operate attachments within manufacturer specifications.
Safely remove and store attachments as per organizational guidelines.
Relocating Grader Equipment
Prepare the grader for relocation within or between worksites.
Follow safety protocols for transportation, including loading and unloading from trailers.
Machine Maintenance
Conduct routine maintenance and inspection of grader machinery.
Document maintenance activities and report faults or issues.
Housekeeping and Documentation
Clear and clean work areas post-operations.
Maintain accurate records in line with organizational and legislative requirements.

5 days (approx. 7 Hours each day)

Provide your Unique Student Identifier (USI) Number

Wear required PPE detailed below
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Enclosed steel-cap or other suitable work boots
Suitable work shorts or pants
Hi-vis shirt or vest
* Your participation in the course may be cancelled or postponed if PPE requirements are not met.
Course Completion
Upon successful completion, you will receive a Statement of Attainment.

Certification does not have a specific expiry; however, employers may require periodic refreshers to ensure ongoing compliance with workplace safety standards.
