Sustainable and enterprising communities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people underpinned by appropriate 'fit for purpose' courses.

The Centre for Appropriate Technology Limited (CfAT) is a registered training organisation (number 0857) offering nationally recognised training certificate courses in areas of automotive, construction, civil construction, engineering, essential services and rural operations. Courses on scope: https://training.gov.au/Organisation/Details/0857.

We can also offer fit for purpose non-accredited training to build self-reliance for residents in the short term. We recognise that by living in remote locations where access is goods and services is limited, residents may require a broad range of skills and knowledge to maintain community infrastructure and build on economic opportunities. Our training team has the flexibility to develop a 'custom fit' training program (nationally recognised or non accredited training program to be determined during the initial contact). However, this means you can chose from a wide range of units to suit the capability and capacity needs which will benefit your organisation or community. Speak to one of our friendly team members about developing a training program today.

Government subsidies for training programs vary by State and Territory jurisdictions. Government subsidised training places are generally available to those without a qualification up to a Certificate III level especially for those referred through an employment service provider. There may be subsidies available to employers to support the cost of training their employees. Employers are usually expected to contribute to the cost of training.

We conduct our training and assessment in accordance with the ASQA principles of assessment and rules of evidence. Our trainers and assessors are knowledgeable and highly-skilled individuals in their field of industry.

All students are required to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) number to enrol in training at CfAT. If you don't already have one, refer to the video in useful links 'below' for information about creating a USI.
